You can choose to work for a specific company or you can work as a contractor.
Human Resources Management
The role of a human resources manager is an interesting one. You are involved in activities such as overseeing the recruiting, interviewing and hiring of staff. Overseeing the HR function in an organisation also means that you are responsible for ensuring that policies regarding topics such as equal opportunities, diversity and sexual harassment are in place.
Retail Management

Many of the larger retailers offer graduate programs which you can apply for. These programs enable you to fast track through the company to management level. If you are successful in being accepted for one of these programs you will usually find that you spend time in each area of the retail business. This is to give you a well-rounded knowledge of how the business operates.
In order to be accepted for one of these programs you will need to achieve good grades. This is because there is a lot of competition. You will also need to be able to show that you have a recognised interest in the area of retail.
All of these roles can be accessed using a business studies degree. You may have to start at a low point on the ladder but you should be able to progress upwards if you have the talent and energy.
