What You Need to Know about Color: The 10 Commandments of Color Theory
Evan Brown, developer of the awesome design website, DesignMantic, and creator of the now-famous 10 Commandments of Typogrophy, has developed another fantastic infographic that clarifies how we should be using color. Need to know if you’re using color effectively? Check out these 10 commandments.

Not very helpful. The topic doesn’t lend itself well to an infographic – it needs more explanation. Some of the illustrated variations are frankly terrible in terms of legibility (most of the complementary, for example), and the infographic doesn’t give guidance on what works and what doesn’t, or why. It illustrates types of color schemes without explaining. #10 is extremely unhelpful: not sure what it’s supposed to show. It would be possible to get near-identical (“same”) colors using all three color models, so what’s the point?
I would say this is an example of how sometimes an infographic doesn’t do the job.
